New Government rules on fire safety in buildings have been issued and RP Carpentry is proud to follow them in every installation.
As certified fire door fitters, all our installations have to meet the strict criteria laid out in the Building Regulations https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/937931/ADB_Vol1_Dwellings_2019_edition_inc_2020_amendments.pdf
Those responsible for the building’s fire safety provisions should also familiarise themselves with the new rules and ensure their plans comply.
Fire door installation is governed by the regulations, including the length of time a door can resist or hold back fore between two areas of a building (typically 30 minutes), material used for fire door stuffing – in place around the fire door surrounds – the materials that can be used to manufacture a fire door and other safety features.
We are professional fire door carpenters and installers, accredited by the industry’s inspection watchdog, BMTRADA (https://www.bmtrada.com/)
Fire door joiners must be certified to install doors in premises in order for them to comply with Building Regulations. The certification process is rigorous.
The rules specify where fire doors need to be installed according to the type of premises – in corridors, between certain parts of a building, guarding stairways, as front doors for flats etc. We work with those responsible for fire safety in those buildings to ensure the correct fire door is installed in the correct location.
As experienced approved fire door installers, we have worked on hundreds of projects, ranging from schools to hospitals, large residential developments to industrial sites, installing more than 1,000 doors a year. Our certification status and vast experience make us a popular choice when contractors are seeking partners to work with on major projects.
Our industry accreditation is under constant review and as such, our knowledge of fire safety and building regulations remains current and our work complies with them at all times.
